Proposed Activity

Processing Artists' Group

Processing: http://www.processing.org

Processing is becoming a great tool used among today's great imaginative computer artists. Many projects are using Processing as the main tool for graphically expressing people's imaginations in areas such as video editing, video games (check the Processing Exhibition link for more), video sketches of landscapes, air particulates, and interactive mud art with microcontrollers.

For those who are searching, let us start something in Pictou County that is fun, engaging, and expressive or whatever you want it to be.

Current Activity

Making Robots - This activity is currently on hold until further notice.

We are making robots of different kinds using different kinds of microcontrollers. Some members of PCEC are using the Basic Stamp 2 by Parallax. Others are using one form or another of the Arduino platform. Ideas range from a simple bumper-bot to robots that are interactive over the Internet. Check out our Robots page to see what is being made right now.

  • Time: Mondays, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Location: NSCC, Pictou Campus, Room C100 - entrance is in the back
    • 39 Acadia Avenue, Stellarton, Nova Scotia

Past Activities

Evil Genius Electronics

PCEC used the book "Electronic Circuits for the Evil Genius" as a guide to introduce participants to basic electronics. We had seven participants with a range of interests.

Would you like to see PCEC do something in a particular area of electronics? Drop us a line and we will look at it to see if it is within our knowledge base. Even if it is not, we might be interested in working with it anyway.
